One thing a lot of people can’t get their head around is how to make money blogging.
Really it’s very very simple. People like to overcomplicate most things in life and when it comes to making money online, people like to make out it’s impossible!
If I was to show someone how to make money blogging they would see that it’s not as difficult as they think it is. No one is trying to reinvent the wheel!
The simple way to look at it is that every site with good traffic will make money.
You could have a badly designed site, but if the traffic is there you will make some money.
That doesn’t mean a badly designed site will be efficient and make as much money as it could do, but that’s not the point.
So what’s the point?
To make money blogging, you need a website, good content and some traffic. If you can get these three things then you are making money.
So the first thing you need is a website. Anyone in the world can build one these days, with tools like WordPress around to help you.
After that it’s about getting traffic on to your site. To do that you need to make sure you have plenty of good quality content, that people are interested in.
The internet is basically full of information that people want or need. If you give it to them, then they will keep coming back.
It’s not even about detailed well written essay type content. You don’t need to be the best writer to provide people with good content. You just need to know what they want and give it to them.
For example, I know that people want to learn how to make money blogging. My blog is going to show people exactly how I set this blog up and how I’m able to work from home.
Because that’s exactly what they want!
I’m understanding what people want and I’m giving it to them.
I’m no expert writer. I don’t enjoy writing and I don’t have a degree.
I do enjoy helping other people though! As long as my content is good enough for people to understand and I’m providing something that helps them, then that’s good enough.
There are blogs out there that cover everything you can think of. They all serve a purpose and they all help people.
Here’s a few examples
Fitness – these blogs might help people with new fitness regimes to suit their lifestyle.
Dog Training – these blogs might help people learn more about their pets and how to train them effectively.
Cooking/Baking – these blogs might show people new cooking methods and tips as well as recipes etc
Self Help – these blogs have a huge amount of information to help people with any form of personal development, whether it be based on anxiety or people who want to better themselves.
The list goes on and on
The thing all successful, money generating, blogs have in common is that they provide good content that meets peoples needs.
So the focus when starting a blog to make money is to focus on the content. Make sure it’s relevant to what people are looking for and need.
This is half the job. Of course, that doesn’t guarantee that you will easily get traffic. Nothing does!
The problem most people have is committing to the content and that’s why I make it the number 1 priority.
People find it really difficult to invest time in to something when the return on that time is unknown. People ask questions like – how much time do I need to invest? How long until I see traffic?
The are no answers to these questions. You need to invest your time until it starts to repay you, no matter how long it takes.
You get out what you put in
It took me 18 months or so, but I had no one helping and guiding me. It probably took me 2 months to properly get my first blog up and running!
My free video course will have you build a blog within 15 days!
So here’s my basic strategy that shows people how to make money blogging:
1) decide on the niche for the blog
2) buy a domain and build the blog using WordPress
3) add content to the blog
4) keep adding content until the blog has some depth to it
Until you have completed these steps there is no point in worrying about affiliate programs and commission.
What about traffic?
There is no point in driving traffic to a blog that has 1 page. For people to trust your blog it has to have some depth to it. If people can see that you are adding new content regularly they are more likely to follow you!
In summary I can show you how to make money blogging, but you need to be able to follow the basic strategy laid out above.
I’ve got loads and loads of traffic strategies that I use, but I’m only interested in working with people who have the right attitude. People who are prepared to do things the right way and not necessarily the quick way.
We have a few of those to share as well, but they aren’t long term strategies and that’s what you need to be able to quit work.
